We look forward to receiving your first lesson.  There are four lessons in this series.

Is the church really important?  Is it really necessary for me as a young, growing believer?  Can I get along without the church?  Isn’t it full of hypocrites?  These and many other questions may be lurking in the back of your mind.  In this lesson we see why the church is necessary (even with its imperfections) for my continued growth in Christ.

1.  According to God’s Word, what is the church like?  Romans 12:4-5

2.  We are the church. As the Body of Christ, we are an extension of His ministry.  We become His hands, His feet, His lips.  If part of the body is not functioning, there is weakness and disunity.  What is the ultimate goal for us as the church?  Ephesians 4:12-13.

A.
  B.
  C.
  D.
  E.

3.  Psalm 150 tells us where, why and by whom God is to be glorified or praised.
    A.  Where is God to be praised? (Verse 1)
    B.  What are we to praise God for? (Verse 2)
    C.  How are we to praise God? (Verse 4)

4.  What was Jesus’ habit or custom on the Sabbath day?  Luke 4:16

5.  God has set aside one day each week especially for us to worship Him. What two things do we see in Exodus 20:11 concerning the Lord’s Day?
“The Lord the Sabbath day and made it .”

6.  If this day is so important what should we as God’s people do?  Exodus 31:14a

7.  What does Jesus promise us when we meet together in His name? Matthew 18:20
